hey, these are really cool. I also was wondering, has this been an idea of yours for a while? I seem to remember some talk of a camera and a hat... I can't really remember well...
in high school my friend Brent (of the Yogurt Bebsite) and I spent a cold night on Guardsman's Pass with a manual 35mm and tripod, trying to follow a lunar eclipse across a single frame.
and there was a boy in NY who used to receive mystical visions of sacred texts looking into a dark hat.
but these pictures are the very happy result of my incompetence with our new digital SLR camera - just trying to shoot the full moon through some junipers and pinons east of Albuquerque.
That's really cool. I have one like it at home. Anyway I was reading in a photog mag that some people like to put their subject in a dark room. and then put the camera on long exposure and then "paint" across the subject with a penlight. I want to try that sometime.
